InSinkErator Garbage Disposal with Power Cord, Badger 5, Standard Series, 1/2 HP Continuous Feed, Black

Our last Insinkerator garbage disposal worked great for 10 years before it started leaking. I debated hiring a handyman to install a replacement but decided to watch a few installation videos first. Im so glad I did because this company makes it a snap to swap out their old models for new ones. I was able to switch out our 10-year-old model for a brand new upgraded one all by myself. The only issue I had was holding up the weight of the disposals on my own while disconnecting the old and reconnecting the new. I solved the issue by stacking up just enough books for the disposals to rest on so I didnt have to hold them. Note: Our old disposal was attached to our dishwasher with a pipe under the sink. The pipe lined up perfectly with the new disposal. If you dont have a dishwasher or plan to install one along with a new disposal, it might require hiring someone, unless youre handier than I am of course.

I have used this product for over 30 years and have found it to be durable and dependable. I can not give a 5 star rating at this time because after installing the device I discovered, while leak testing, that there was a hole in the plastic discharge valve. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. I took the discharge valve from the unit I was replacing and installed it on the new unit. The unit operates beautifully. I looked in the box that the new unit arrived in and the broken piece was not in the box; this says that quality control did not have its finest hour. This will not deter me from buying this fine product in the future.

Average, at best. Certainly not as sturdy as my old WasteKing. Decent disposal for the price (which seems to fluctuate everyday on Amazon).

Replaced this one with same model and it went pretty slick.

It does not come with any kind of a switch which I knew. I added and air switch which worked well instead of running electrical wires.

This was a replacement for one that lasted 25 years. The previous one was quieter than this one.

Please include in your instruction to cut the whole for dishwasher connection... It took me two days to figure out and I though the dishwasher gone bad, when it stopped draining the water. Overall good product.
