Product only moves what it wants to. DID NOT move printer profiles, no passwords, and only some apps. Save your money its easier to do it manually

I like Laplink products. Have been using Laplink Gold with much success. I was looking for a more automated way to get my migration task completed. I read the reviews on PCMover, and they looked good. Bought it, tried to use it no joy.

I bought this product because it was endorsed by Microsoft and said it would transfer my existing cpu seamlessly to a new one. No such luck. It took 3 days to make everything work and the customer support didnt understand the product at all. In fact, there was no telephone support - only via chat. I ended up working the issues out with Microsoft vice Laplink but the issue was definitely with how the software did its business. Did it really help? Im not sure.... Was there customer support any good. Not really. Overall: dont get your hopes up.

This product worked great. I read the instructions through twice and then started. I reread again and when I followed the directions... it worked wonderfully. I had a little trouble so I used the tech chat and the tech responded quickly and gave me the information I needed. Tech chat also told me that with the same from and to machines you can use it several times. It copied my tax program and files. I also use a database to catalog some of my collectables and it copied the program and files.

I purchased a new Dell computer this year (2020) to replace my old Dell from 2009. My only concern (and not a small one to me) was transferring the programs, files, etc., from the old machine to the new one. I didnt want some high-tech stranger doing it for me and having access to all my personal info. For that reason I held off setting up the new machine for a couple of months while I anxiously tried to figure out how to do it. Then I came across PCmover while researching the transfer issue on-line. I wasnt sure 1) that the program would make the transfer flawlessly; and 2) I wasnt sure I could install and run the program flawlessly myself. But I decided to give PCmover a try. And Im very glad I did. The program and the transfer cable were very easy to install and run. It took 2-3 hours, I assume because of the age of my old machine and its technology. But PCmover worked for me without so much as a hiccup. When the process was complete I was still concerned about how things looked and operated on my new machine. It turned out I neednt have worried: the transfer was seamless and I didnt need to contact Laplinks customer service. My programs and files were all where I expected them to be. I was able to simply start up the new machine, log in, and had no issues or corrections to make. PCmover also seemed to take care of whatever issues were involved in making sure my old programs/settings were compatible with/updated to my new machine. And I have had no issues after the transfer. I highly recommend PCmover if youre acquiring a new computer and want to transfer the contents of the old computer to the new. PCmover alleviated all my fears about the transfer process and worked flawlessly. I will definitely use it for my next computer upgrade.

I needed to mirror my old computer to a new one. I did it via ethernet cable which was included. With a quick call to tech support, the move was quick and easy. In fact, the estimate was 3 to 4 hours for data transfer and it took under 40 minutes. GREAT deal for $40. Seamless transfer and works great. Awesome tech support. Yes, even you can do it.
