> 24 hourAfter reading all the steps you have to go through to make this thing worth, I determine it was easier to reinstall the software than it was to follow LapLinks procedure.

> 24 hourI purchased a new Dell computer this year (2020) to replace my old Dell from 2009. My only concern (and not a small one to me) was transferring the programs, files, etc., from the old machine to the new one. I didnt want some high-tech stranger doing it for me and having access to all my personal info. For that reason I held off setting up the new machine for a couple of months while I anxiously tried to figure out how to do it. Then I came across PCmover while researching the transfer issue on-line. I wasnt sure 1) that the program would make the transfer flawlessly; and 2) I wasnt sure I could install and run the program flawlessly myself. But I decided to give PCmover a try. And Im very glad I did. The program and the transfer cable were very easy to install and run. It took 2-3 hours, I assume because of the age of my old machine and its technology. But PCmover worked for me without so much as a hiccup. When the process was complete I was still concerned about how things looked and operated on my new machine. It turned out I neednt have worried: the transfer was seamless and I didnt need to contact Laplinks customer service. My programs and files were all where I expected them to be. I was able to simply start up the new machine, log in, and had no issues or corrections to make. PCmover also seemed to take care of whatever issues were involved in making sure my old programs/settings were compatible with/updated to my new machine. And I have had no issues after the transfer. I highly recommend PCmover if youre acquiring a new computer and want to transfer the contents of the old computer to the new. PCmover alleviated all my fears about the transfer process and worked flawlessly. I will definitely use it for my next computer upgrade.

> 24 hourPCMover worked great, better than expected, and saved me several days of installing, registering, and activating all the programs on my new pc. A few programs needed activation or reinstalling. Office 365 had to uninstall the trial version that came on the new pc, and installed from my MS account. Norton Security didnt transfer and the manual install got caught in a loop of install, restart and removal several times until I broke the loop. Acrobat 8 needed activation, but kept giving messages that I didnt have a network connection. Finally found out Adobe no longer supported this version and years ago shutdown their activation server and phone line without advising their registered customers.

> 24 hourAfter printing out the installation guide, I proceeded to work the transfer on my own. However, my new PCs C: drive was too small to accommodate all the stuff from the old PC, so I sent the damn thing back. (I did move everything possible to the other drive, but it wasnt even close to working.) During this first attempt I did chat with an agent who proved to me close to useless. When asked to provide feedback to LapLink, I wrote a less than positive review. To my surprise, I received an email indicating that a technician would be contacting me to help with the install. Within minutes I received the second email, asking for my phone number and a good time to make contact. We set up a mutual time to set up the transfer. I even moved up the date when my new PC arrived earlier than expected. Like others have indicated, the tech took control of both PCs and talked me through exactly what he was doing, step by step. He even had to do some rigging to get the faster transfer to work. (While we were on the phone, Id discovered the fine print that additional free assistance was available. Should be much more obvious to find and a better description of how it works.) Once it was all set up, the indicator said the transfer would take about 3.5 hours. At that point, the tech disconnected and I appeared to be on my way to a speedy transfer. Not so fast! After an hour or so, the transfer somehow flipped by to the Wi-Fi connection and now required 17 hours. I contacted support again, started working with another tech who got things set up again. This time, even with the cable connection, the transfer took over 16 hours. Am I happy about that? No, but I am very happy with the results. All the critical programs and files transferred and I was in business. Without the technical help, this would be a one star review. I knocked off a star because neither tech could get the cable transfer to work. Thats a real bummer, but at least the end results were what I had hoped for. Will I use the software again? Only if I have a tech holding my hand and doing the actual work.

> 24 hourBought this to transfer from my old computer to new one. Mover worked fine. Also included was safe erase to erase hard drive from old computer. Went away for a month and then tried to use safe erase and said had to put a code in again. Couldnt find the code and contacted them to get one I could use to erase. They said they couldnt do it that it was my fault I lost it so they tried to sell me a new code. I am not paying more money for something I already paid for. Customer service used very poor example why they couldnt do it. Not happy with them at all.

> 24 hourI Found the software relatively easy to use However It did not transfer all the data from the old to the new computer. Some programs did not transfer and I had to reinstall them. I had to use a back drive to transfer some files and data. It seems to me in the old days these transfer programs came with the new computer and did a more complete job. Overall though I would the program did its job well.

> 24 hourI should have paid attention to all the bad reviews of this item. This didnt work. I followed in detail all the directions. When I tried to go to my new PC, it claimed I have an outdated version that doesnt match the CD. I downloaded like I was supposed to and nothing was working. I called the company 24/7 customer service line and as soon as they said they wanted to remote into my PC to help, I said no thank you and decided to return it. Thank goodness for Amazons return policy. **Warning dont buy.
