I really wanted to believe that this would work. I needed to transfer from a Windows 7 to a Windows 10 machine. After hours of trying on my own, I even tried their tech support. They also gave up.

Was not impresses with over 10 hours to download from old to new computer

Would not work for me. Finally did everything manually

It would be nice to just push one button and Voila - all done, but there are too many variables to deal with first - and that is unavoidable, so you must be prepared to carefully read the instructions and follow them. So when you decide to use PCMover be prepared to spend some concentrated time and exercise some patience to see the process through - not for the fainthearted, attention-deficited or the impatient - but it worked well after I asked a couple of questions on Chat (only a couple of minutes wait each time) only to find that Chat pointed out the answers in the instructions!

I had paid for a tech to setup a friends new laptop, and this did a better job than the paid tech.

Promises the world but doesnt deliver. First trying to do a network transfer, one of the software components crashes every time on my old PC. Try several fixes that dont help. Then try transfer file mode. That works on my old PC I can create the file. Now the program crashes on my new computer mid load from the file. You can retry but every time you have to reselect what you want to load and the UI to do so stinks. A long narrow scroll box to select programs with all this wasted space for the program icon. Scroll click click scroll click click scroll click click. Give me a dense list of programs with checkboxes so I can see what Im selecting and eliminate endless scrolling. Still not sure if Ill end up with a functional transfer.

with the release of windows 10, windows EZ Transfer went away. It used to come with Windows 7. PC Mover was reccomended by Microsoft so when I just purchased my new Dell 5720 I went with their reccomendation.I will tell you it was easy to install, I did watch some videos on line before just to get familiar with it. It moved all my files over but I did call GO Daddy who hosts my Outlook Mail to :fix a couple settings, AOL to help me reinstall my account , Dymo to get my address labels, and finally Bose Sound Touch to relink my I tunes from my saved on computer . Even talked to PC MOVER tech folks and they all were helpful! all files were transferred but the above accounts needed further tweeking and I reached out. Must of been a slow day did not have to wait long to reach all the above tech supports! And PC MOVER is still much better than rebuilding your computer from scratch.

I was not happy with the results. Files transfered, for the most part, well. BUT apps did not. Sometimes just the icon transferred other apps just part of the app. One example - Thunderbird transferred, but does not work properly. I can get e-mail, but when I delete one thing three others also delete. I did not want some Windows stuff to transfer now I have two sets of stuff that doesnt respond the way it should. So now I will fix it all by hand. I saved no time with PC Mover.

I was impressed with the speed of the transfer of so much data and the fact that it even installed my programs for me. Make sure you have everything removed that you dont want to transfer however. You dont really have much control over that.

The software transferred all my applications to my new PC. Both are Windows 10. The only thing it did not transfer is my MS Office 2007. I ended up to buy new Office 2019. Other than that everything is perfect.
