Not useful at all….

Used Laplink to transfer Apps and data from my old computer to my new computer. It was very easy to use, and everything transferred seamlessly. I actually had to redo the transfer because there was a problem with my new computer and customer support was very helpful.

Did not afford me the opportunity to select where the files were going (I have more than 1 hard drive in new computer).

I had an old 10-year-old computer that was many issues and it was living on borrowed time. I had over 35 GB of data to migrate which manually seemed like a daunting task. I was in search of a tool that would make things easier. I read a lot of reviews of a couple of products before product before buying this one. I will admit the reviews were very mixed, this one seemed to have enough good positive review, so I decided to give it a try. It worked flawlessly, it did take several hours to transfer everything from my old PC to my new one, using a regular Ethernet cable. I can only speculate that those with bad experiences did not follow the directions. I used the download version and read the instructions very carefully. You need to do a few things, like turning off any scheduled updates, power settings (like sleep mode) and firewalls. You also need to make sure both computers are running the same version of Windows. For me it was well worth the money.

I dread moving to a new computer, but PCMover Professional moved all of my files and programs from my old laptop to a new one without a cable and without a problem in minutes and not hours. No issues. No errors. I almost couldnt believe it! My best single purchase of 2020 hands down. Next time I have to move files I will not dread it, I will just purchase the latest version of PCMover Professional and let it do all the work for me.

On the plus side, tech support was very nice and willing to try helping. On the negative side, after 8 hours of troubleshooting by myself and nearly 2 hours on the phone with tech support, they could come up with no new ideas that I and Google had not already tried, and I was completely unable to get this to actually work as advertised. I ended up manually transferring everything. This was a waste of time and money...

As expected, there were some apps and settings which did not transfer easily. But he majority of the programs did transfer, with some juggling, but overall it did the job, certainly better than reinstalling (especially with licenses).

Good tech support, user friendly product. Following directions, product is helpful. Overall a good experience.

I purchased PCmover to transfer applications and data from my older Windows7 computer to my brand new Windows10 computer.

If your plan is to migrate all compatible applications and all your documents then this is the software you want to use. If however you need to customize the migration then you maybe disappointed. My plan was to customize the migration for very specific applications and a limited set of document folders. I was migrating from a Windows 10 desktop to a Windows 11 laptop, and I had read all of the available support documentation before making my purchase and using the application to migrate.
