> 24 hourThis worked just as expected. Parts fit perfectly and were easy to install. My garage door is working great. Saved a bunch of money. Remember to thread the self-tapping screws before you install the assembly in the box to make it easier.

> 24 hourOEM part. Ordered for old Craftsman. (be sure to find out model number on your unit and cross reference part for comptability) Easy install. Most difficult part was aligning the chain because it fell off after the sprocket broke. Trial and error got it aligned. The gear assembly made my garage door new again. Take your time, mark all the wires for reconnection, grease the gears good, reassemble and you are in business. You will not need all the parts in the kit if your sprocket sheered off. Check youtube for help and insight. I ordered this from amazon warehouse. I used my womans account because she has Prime, thats why Im not a verified purchase. Sears wanted $39 for the same part and good luck finding a Sears parts department. They close at 4 on Saturday and closed on Sunday. I think theyre going out of business. Hope you have good results.

> 24 hourA few weeks ago, my garage door suddenly began acting strange. It wouldnt go all the way up before stopping, and when the door hit the ground, it would immediately reverse and go back up. A call to a local garage door place revealed a probable stripped gear in the opener. I was quoted $400 for a replacement opener with installation. Wow.... So I set up and appointment the following week. But being curious, I was dying to find out what was wrong the the 15 year old opener. So I took the cover off while it was still mounted to the ceiling. The inside of the cover was filled with white flakes and the main gear was definitely stripped. A quick check on YouTube yieled a wealth of Infprmation on replacing the gear. It seemed easy, so I ordered the kit. Within an evening, I had the unit down and with 3 bolts, had the old gear out. When the new kit arrived, I noticed that it came with a new worm gear too. Replacement of that gear involved removing the motor from the unit, and that required a little work. But the thought of saving over $300 made to work seem easy. I had the gears replaced the unit buttoned up and back in place within a Saturday morning. Carefully following the directions, and with the garage door closed, I ran the opener to the full clockwise position and installed and properly tensioned the chain. The moment of truth came when I hit the key fob opener. The door operated quietly and smoothly! It required a tiny bit of adjustment and my garage door, our primary entrance and exit to our hone was back in service. If you can hold a wrench. If you can turn a screwdriver, if you can follow instructions to the letter, you can save yourself potentially hundreds of dollars with the kit!
