My lift master garage door opener had the bushing failing on the gear drive. This part fit it perfectly and came with all the necessary parts for that repair.

My main drive sprocket looked like shredded cheese inside my garage door case. It was easier to buy the full assembly and replace the whole thing. From start to finish in maybe 90 minutes tops, and we worked at a leisurely pace. Great for DIYers

Ordered this trying to save money and without calling a professional out. It came fast and in good shape. I started doing it myself and when I got to the removing the old gear, decided to call my brother out to help me. He had it replaced in no time. Saved over 100 doing it myself. Thanks for delivering a great product.

Parts were good and included every thing to allow me to fix the garage door opener. I would have given 5 stars if the instructions would have been more descriptive. Two of the pieces need to be hammered out because they have friction fit. Also I forgot to place the 2 holes in the metal cap below the sprocket perpendicular to the garage door. The holes are used to attach the plastic dust cap over the sprocket. I dont think the instructions mentioned that either.

Worked beautifully. A few caveats. Dont just buy the plastic gear and try to get the pin out on the old one and replace just that part, it simply isnt worth the pain. I found it IMPOSSIBLE to get that pin out. The pin itself has a seam in it and the more we tried to hammer or push it out, the wider the pin got. We tried everything mentioned in reviews or on youtube before we finally gave up and got this instead. Save yourself the trouble; this isnt expensive enough to be worth all that. Second, ours came with two vials of lube, not one as pictured, so possibly the vendor has responded, but one would not have been enough. Third, as several others have mentioned, the three holes for the screws had no threads. Before you even put this into the motor and try to install it, check that, and force threads into those by pre-screwing your screws into it forcibly. This is why I cant give this 5 stars, Im just not sure why that should have been necessary. Finally, I would just add that there is no way we could have done this job ourselves without a ratcheting socket set with an extension. The area is just too tight; Im not sure any other tool would have worked for us. Our set is just a small one and worked great, something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-92-804-Piece-Socket-Set/dp/B000NIK9ZU/ref=sr_1_5?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1451749215&sr=1-5&keywords=ratchet+set. I had to put an extra extension from my drill in for more length as well, in order to clear the length of this part entirely. Oh and one more thing: people always say to make sure the gear has turned to end of the garage door down position but I had trouble figuring out how to know which way that was. In my case, it was after the gear had turned clockwise (looking at it from above the gear) all the way.

    Greater than one week

After finding our garage door stopped going up and down, I disassembled the control unit and found the main gear was stripped and stuck. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and was confident I could replace the gears myself. There is a cheaper kit that only includes the shaft, but I figured for a few extra bucks I would replace as much as I could. Got the kit. Followed the videos. Worked GREAT. Been working perfectly ever since. Hopefully that buys us ANOTHER 10 years!

An Easy fix. Maybe 20 minutes The old one it replaced lasted 19 years. Remember to grease it all upon install.

Saved me replacing the entire unit and left it in place. Took about an hour and works like a charm.

Ordered this when our very old garage door opener went out. Took about an hour for husband to swap out the broken parts. Worked the first time we tried it. However now it it super loud. Not sure what that is from. But it has worked ever since we put these parts in.
