The unit produces pretty significant noise. Around 60 decibels. Contacted support. Was told that 70 decibels was normal. That’s city traffic noise. Update: bought a self-claimed quiet fan. But it turned out that the original fan is actually quieter. Found that significant amount of noise was generated by the air passing the fan grill. Removed the grill and reduced the noise by about 10 decibels. That’s a lot. Consider that every two decibels double the amount of sound energy. Obviously this is not an ideal solution if you have some moving objects close by that may obstetrics the fan blades.

Looks so clean compared to the Costco camera systems. Only had 1 issue which was trying remove cameras that were recognized and logged. Contacted support and after a few emails got it all cleared up.

The motion detection is pretty much useless. Nobody wants to watch playback from 8 cameras searching for one event so motion detection is critical to the overall usefulness of the system. This system either logs a motion event for too much or too little but never close to just right. The image quality is nice if you don’t need to zoom in but naturally you need to zoom in… license plates, faces, etc. The installation was a breeze with POE you just need one cable for power and signal and you can adjust the cameras on all axis of movement with just one screw. That makes it so much easier when you’re on a latter. I’m not a fan of the inability to add cameras from other manufacturers because Reolink’s pan, tilt, zoom selection is lacking. I’ll live with this purchase but I would never buy this system for my other house.

Easy setup and diy installation. Works nicely

While the system is nice… it’s not very friendly user. Comes with NO manual or instructions. Plug and Play is easily done but, pass that your in the dark. Cameras are clear but, not enough when you zoom in. The microphone in the cameras could be better. I wouldn’t buy again.

tried to call there tech suport to ask them a question about using an expander and the tech person didnt have a clue,, then wanted access to my computer to scan it !! Scammers!!!!!! still havent found a good number to talk to anyone

If you are looking a great security system. Look no further. This is a great system. Very easy to work with and very easy to setup. I have done many different cameras but this by far is the best.

PoE cameras are expensive primarily due to cost of installation. These require fish wiring and depending on accessibility and cosmetics, you may end up with a couple of thousand dollars in installation costs. Therefore, you must choose a camera system wisely. Unfortunately, with this being my first set, I didnt have the knowledge even after substantial amount of research. Here are the drawbacks that I saw in this system. My system was installed around the house. My front yard is narrow and close to the street. I would say the mid point of the street is about 25 feet away from the camera. I was dissatisfied with the night vision specific to moving targets. I was specifically interested in capturing the face but the person must stand still for you to recognize an intruders face at that distance. Further, daytime moving targets, while much better than night vision are also showing unclear. The NVR is loud and like many of you, you will likely have the NVR connected to the TV via HDMI. The NVR is loud and without cloud backup features can easily be identified by an intruder which is concerning. On the positive side, I didnt see any weaknesses in the andoid/ios apps and did not find it difficult to navigate through the software preinstalled on the NVR. My suggestion is to take your time researching which security cameras that are good for your specific situation and there are forums out there that are specific to security cameras that has wealth of information but the research will take some time which I believe is worth it knowing how expensive installation is.
