> 3 dayI installed this in a duplex I share with a family member. Some areas area common and covered by the camaras as well as other vulnerable but independent areas. The family member also has a guest access account to see the camaras, but the nvr software does NOT allow to tailor or limit which camaras may be seen by which users. I wish this feature (which seems kind of obvious and not to hard to implement) was available. Wrote to the tech support and got a polite and quick answer saying it was not possible.

> 3 dayI’ve had this system for about a year. I constantly recieve false alarm non stop. While it might seem user friendly at first, imagine being notified everytime a fly or dust blows in the air. I have the 8MP 4k cameras. My old 5MP cameras will display image but they will not record to my newer device it only supports the 8MP cameras. Also. There is no contact for tech support it’s only email messages which is a slow process. My night owl cameras from Walmart were more reliable and with less false alarms.

> 3 dayAt first glance, Reolink appeared to have a great solution with superior features and great quality gear. Thats where it stopped. Here are the comments provided to Reolink upon returning all their gear: 1. First and foremost, I don’t have time to spend tinkering with your support work-arounds for every little function which is stated as part of the system … UNACCETPABLE! I have a full time job that consumes 10 to 14 hours of my day. 2. From what I’ve found, your reference material is scattered, unorganized and incomplete in most cases. Thus the continued support work-arounds … UNACCETPABLE to wait 24 hours for your team to respond only during CN time zone. 3. The functions within the older Client App 7.x version are NOT in the newer 8.x version period. This seriously degrades your system solution to a mere IoT toy and not a serious security system which is presented … UNACCETPABLE! 4. Camera Volume is turned up on all places, turned on in the admin settings as stated in the blog, not in operational material and yet no sound on ANY client app. Audio only to the main console is UNACCEPTABLE! There was a reference which indicated I may have to log into the camera itself to get audio – again UNACCETPABLE! 5. Access to the SD Cards installed in each of the 16 cameras was not found ANY WHERE on your site. In our one conversation, it was implied that I would need to create an FTP login to the camera to access … UNACCETPABLE! 6. Each of these functions / features should be baked into your client application for all platforms to enable the customer to access at their pace and device. This can be simple facilitated by offering two switchable on-the-fly App modes, where one is the simply the camera view only with minimal controls based on camera. Second would be the EXPERT mode which provides more in dept details to manage the camera settings. The both mode should be aligned with an Admin account and the, the simple view align with General User account. This is NOT the case….ADMIN login via client app offers no real difference to GENERAL user account. On the positive side, I found Reolink equipment to be of high quality and if the presumed functionality was fully available at EVERY client, it would exceed all competitors as I initially thought based on the information provided. Its very sad that what you say you provide and what you actually provide are not aligned. Had they been, we wouldn’t have had any issues. Currently your engineering capability to build the devices has far exceeded your business operations capability to sustain this level of quality in software, documentation and overall global support. I will add that their support team is very pleasant and want to help. Its a shame, as I had high hopes.

Greater than one weekLongtime NVR user for residential, had 8yrd old Swann system, cameras and NVR build was good, but recently upgraded to newer swann, was no impressed. So returned to Amazon, searched, read up reviews, YT vids, etc, using only Amazon (US) to buy from, surprisingly not a wide variety of brands to selection from. Received the equipment, even the boxing was top notch, all cameras even the PTZ i bought was excellent build. The set up to network was easier than the 8yrs old Swann i had. Note the PTZ dome can utilize the same ethernet to move camera. Just dont go crazy with it. The picture quality is clear 1080 type. Comparable to the previous 1080p I purchased, keep in mind the UI is same as all other brands now, the new Swann I returned used exact same UI, so nothing different in features available, that depends on type of NVR or cameras purchased. I chose the H.265 due to the compression rates, its good, set up on my cell phone was even easier than I thought, picked up device right away. Note i have not set up external access yet and have yet to seek tech support, as when setting up remote access there a variety ways to do this, best call this company to help. Security and prevention of hack in should be considered. Definitely will recommend this product to others.

> 3 dayIve been a Zmodo user for years. Their products were good with good support. But then they started pushing their cloud storage and even stopped producing NVRs. I decided it was time to upgrade. I decided to try this Reolink system. I can say I was blown away with the quality of the video and audio especially day video. The night video is good but the quality is about average for other systems Ive used. The app is user friendly as well. Set up was simple. Of course running the cable was a chore. Tech support was initially only by email but now is available by phone. The wait time was long but Tech support was very helpful. I have added a couple of Reolink wireless cameras to the NVR and they work great. The only negative thing I have found is the desktop client is not user friendly but it does work. I would love to see Reolink have a web app like Zmodo for viewing from your computer. All in all, I would definitely recommend this system.
