> 3 dayHave used over 50 of these 850 EVOs now and they are certainly a large step up in system stability over the Kingstons I used prior. These 850 EVOs and the PROs are awesome SSDs. I havent had any issues with them at all. For me, these are all Ill use. As with any SSD, over partition the drive a bit by shrinking one partition and leave a few GB unallocated for the drive to use in the future should any bad blocks occur. Good practice to have and will ultimately make your drive last longer. Nothing against Kingston, you save a few $ by using them. Only thing with Kingstons is you must make sure the firmware is the most up to date, otherwise you may have issues, I know I did on a large amount of systems. Samsung on the otherhand... these have been great. I still update the firmware on the Samsungs as that is just a great habit to have. Always update the firmware on any hardware if you can.

> 3 dayAwesome hard drive. Easily the best bang for your buck upgrade for most modern PCs and laptops. The only thing you sacrifice is size but thats trivial to me.

Greater than one weekI purchased a 250GB model for a desktop Dell All-in-One 23 PC for our kitchen. The computer was 4 years old and it seemed that the original hard disk took forever to churn through simple Windows 7 system updates. So I decided to update the guts of the computer and doubled the RAM and put in the SSD. I chose the smaller capacity since this computer is used for kitchen uses such as web browsing, displaying pictures, recipes, skype, etc. No document or massive media storage required. I ran into a problem when trying to clone over the contents of the drive using SAMSUNG Magician. I did not know it at the time, but the windows check disk missed a drive problem, and the clone processed stalled after 90% copied several times in a row. I had another disk utility package look over the original disk and found the error and fixed it. Then the clone/copy process proceeded like a champ. And a quick cable connection change later and my Windows boot up time was cut by 2/3rds with the new drive. My only suggestion is that Samsung include additional disk utilities in their software package to help ready the transition to the new drive.

> 3 dayI am sold on these drives. I have purchased the 250 and 500 850 EVOs . They are flat out fast. I took a 9 year old laptop that I was about to give up on and decided to install this thing along with Windows 10 Tech Preview. Wow!!! I went from write speeds of less than 10 MB to nearly 200MB. That translates into speed. Startup is near instant and all my programs run lightning fast. Bought another one for a 6 year old laptop with even better results. I have installed these in all my newer desktops that have Sata III and I have been getting the rated 500 MB transfer rates. Everything is just better with these drives. I will only use HDD drives as backups now. Take a simple SDD like this one and install your operating system on it. You wont be disappointed. Transfer your old hard drive: The included software is a breeze. You can copy your old c: drive to the new hard drive in just a few minutes.

Greater than one weekReally easy to install and initialize. Very fast load times as well, especially when compared to a mechanical drive. Kind of wish I had gone for the 500GB size instead, but still a good investment for a reasonable price.

22-11-2024This SSD is the real deal. Ive had it in for a day and replaced my mid-2012 MacBook Pros old 5400RPM HDD and the machine feels like a completely different unit. I was having issues with the old HDD and programs taking forever to load and not anymore. This SSD is fantastic and with most things in the cloud these days, 250GB was plenty.
