> 24 hourYoure reading reviews for this vacuum because you have two concerns: hair and weight. Consider your problems solved. First, hair. As you can see from the attached image, I have the kind of long, extremely thick hair that strangles vacuum rollers dead in nanoseconds. This vacuums roller has a groove carved into the plastic so you can quickly and easily slide a knife or scissor blade in, severing every hair with no hassle. Instant cleanup, no destroyed roller. The suction is no joke. There are two settings: one that is as powerful as my old vacuum on max power, and one that is TURBO CHARGED. This will demolish ground-in dirt and hair even from high-pile carpet or rugs. The suction is so powerful, even carpeting and rugs that have been pounded completely flat have the fibers physically pulled upwards, so even if your hairy little monster of a pet likes to destroy carpet or rug fibers, after vacuuming they feel plush and wonderful. Con: on Turbo mode, you will smell burning hair. The motor really is not kidding around and will set itself on fire before it allows the tiniest speck of dirt to remain on your floor. Second: weight. Its remarkably lightweight and very easy to heft around even with tiny elf arms. The maneuverability of the vacuum head is excellent and can work around such tight unwieldy places as between chair legs. All the pieces pop apart and reassemble with no trouble, so storage and transportation will never be an issue. Con: almost all of the weight is in the top handle, where the motor is. This can make it a tiny bit difficult to get the vacuum head to stay on the ground properly, and makes it nigh impossible for you just to stand the vacuum up anywhere and leave it there. Being top-heavy does it no favors. General design con: the canister is somewhat small and connected directly to the motor so you cant just pop it out, empty it into a bin, and pop it back into the vacuum. Its very easy to empty, but you are still going to have to heft the motor around with it, and the motor is obviously still going to be plugged into the wall. Good news is that the motor/handle/canister all pops free of the other bits with a simple lever press, so its not like you need to carry the entire vacuum with you when you head to the bin. Bonus pro: there are a huge number of attachments, heads, and specialty bits and bobs in with the vacuum. I dont know what half of them are used for. Some are obviously for cleaning off stairs, or ceiling fans, or getting into crevasses, but some of them, who even knows. Literally whatever kind of application youd like this vacuum for, theres probably a specialized nozzle for it. This is the cleanest my stairs have been in four years. Final pitch: look, I get it. I have a A Thing about money where no matter how worthy a purchase it is, a triple digit price tag makes me flinch. I put off getting a new vacuum for months and watched my own mental health spiral, knowing a contributing factor was that I was living in rising masses of dirt and grime. Danger had its element, too; a pie plate exploded (dont ask) and glass shards found themselves all over my kitchen floor, and some ended up in my feet. No vacuum to clean up the shards I couldnt see and couldnt get up with a broom and dustpan. I know being surrounded by painful messes were powerless to fix is a 2020 mood and all, but this metaphor is a little too on the nose. I caved and bought the vacuum. I cranked her up this morning. This is the best Ive felt in months. I know the price tag is a little steep compared to other lightweight vacs, but its powerful and versatile enough that its absolutely worth the expenditure. If youre looking for a worthwhile vacuum that will demolish human hair, pet hair, ground-in dirt, and particulates from any flooring you could possibly have, all while staying under $200, this is it.

> 24 hourBought this Shark vacuum to replace a small battery operated one that went kaput, Im very impressed with its performance and its so light compared to my Dyson. It actually cleaned an area on a light colored rug that I had gone over many times with the Dyson and just figured I had to resort to shampoo to get it match the rest of the carpet, but after going over it with the Shark it was definitely cleaner, couldnt believe it as I thought Dyson was the gold standard in vacuum cleaners. The LED lights are very useful and not gimmicky. Very happy with it so far.

> 24 hourI opened this and thought, what a plastic piece of junk, lol then I used it, it is light, and pivots into the left or right, you do not have to fight it like my oreck. And you can not believe the stuff it picks up, I used it after my oreck and it picked up a ton of stuff out of my rugs. I got the extended warranty but doubt I will need it. Do let the looks fool you, it really is a great one, I like that you can remove the wand part and do stairs, tuffted buttons on my couch and if you use the want without the brushes, you can get it under the couch and there is a brush the goes flat under your fridge. Buy it you wont be sorry

> 24 hourI own a German Shepherd Dog and he sheds heavily, especially in the spring. This little vacuum makes quick work of cleaning up. I brush him every day and then still have to vacuum daily but this small vac does the trick.

> 24 hourLight weight but a bit too heavy so make sure it’s propped up in a corner. I was worried about cord length, but I can easily do the living room, and kitchen from ether plug at kitchen/ pliving room entrance. Kitchen, and hall from hall plug, Hall, bathroom, and my room from bathroom plug. Picks up almost everything. Only time it clogged was when it picked up a piece of cardboard. Easy to open up to clean the roller and filters. I gave 1 star for stair cleaning because I live in a 1972 modified trailer.

> 24 hourOriginal review: 11.14.14 Normally, I wouldnt write a review when there are 554 others, but this vacuum cleaner has changed my life! Its hard to believe how much dirt it gets up-*every* time I vacuum...which means its hard to believe how much dirt I was living in before, in the world of the Hoover upright. Im still experimenting with all the attachment doodads--its way more vacuum than Ive ever had before. But even though I love it, there are a few things that are less than ideal, for me at least: *The cord is way too long. I get tangled up in it. It would be easier for me to unplug a shorter one and put it in another outlet in another room. *The little devil is so powerful that it pulls me across the room. *The dirt cup is hard to get off. I have to use a knife handle to push the release button while I open the cup with the other hand. *I do wish it stood up by itself. Meanwhile, Im trying to persuade all my friends, clean-freaks and otherwise, to get one. 1.6.15 Update. Heres the caveat, which maybe everyone else would know to look for, but I didnt. The vacuum cleaner fell over tonight and as I bent to pick it up, I noticed that the bottom was turquoise blue…just the color of my rug. When I looked closer, the entire beater bar was wound tightly with cat fur and blue strands from the rug. It took me 25 minutes to cut, pry, and pull all of it off--see the photo for how much there was. So now I know to clean off the bottom of the vacuum in addition to emptying the cup every time and washing the filter once a month. 3.26.17 Update. My little Shark Rocket is still going strong. *The dirt cup is no longer hard to get off--the latch is not as tight as it was when it was new. *Now that I know to check the beater bar whenever I put it away, anything that gets caught is easily removed. The suction is still strong though--it once ate a sock. *As it ages, the locking mechanism that keeps it upright doesnt work as well. It needs to be firmly propped up against a wall so it doesnt come crashing to the floor. It still pulls in the most amazing amount of dirt, dust, and cat fur, even if I vacuumed the day before.

> 24 hourOriginal Review (UPDATE AT BOTTOM): I bought this hoping to replace my current Dyson DC33 vacuum with a vacuum thats more portable and convenient. I have multiple dogs in my house that shed hair like crazy and I vacuum very frequently to keep everything clean. The box advertises that it cleans better than an upright Dyson but after thoroughly testing it out on the different flooring and different rooms in my house, unfortunately I feel it didnt work well enough to replace my Dyson. Dont get me wrong, the Shark Rocket did outperform the Dyson by a long shot on different flooring and I am keeping it because of that. The following are the tests I performed (note I went two weeks without vacuuming prior to this test and I cleaned both vacuums out between tests): After unboxing it, I tried vacuuming one of my carpeted hallways. I have regular short carpeting and I noticed that the shark kept pulling away from me the whole time and kept skipping across the surface. I could tell the vacuum is too light to get a good deep clean. I tried holding it at an angle and putting a bit of pressure down on it and that seemed to help a lot, it was just awkward and uncomfortable to hold and maneuver like this. The shark picked up a lot of hair and dust and I had a full canister at the end. I then used my Dyson over the same carpet I just cleaned with the shark and noticed the difference. The Dyson filled up almost a quarter of its full size canister with hair and dust that the Shark missed. Next I moved one of our rooms that has hard wood flooring. I ran the shark with its included hard wood floor tool and was amazed by how well it cleaned the floors. The white micro fiber cloth was dirty afterwards and the floor felt much cleaner than it did with my Dyson. I also was impressed with how easy it was to use to clean under the bed and desk in that room. After using the Shark I went over the floors like I normally do with the Dyson and the Dyson picked up nothing. To make sure that I wasnt being bias I cleaned out the two vacuums, went to the other room I have with hard wood and tried using the Dyson first. I then went over the floors with the Shark and again it out performed the Dyson. The Microfiber pad that the Shark has cleans the hardwood floors significantly better than the Dyson could and the Shark gets under beds and desks much better than my Dyson. Next I tried using the shark in one of my bathrooms with bathroom tile. I had the same outcome as I did with the hardwood floors. I started with the Shark, and then went over the floors with the Dyson. The Sharks canister was about halfway full and the Dyson picked up nothing. I cleaned them out and moved to my other bathroom with tile in it and tried using the Dyson first. The Dyson picked up quite a bit but again the Shark outperformed the Dyson. Finally I have a large area rug in my living room and I used the Dyson first on one half and then went over it with that same half with the Shark. The Dyson got most of the hair and dust out of it but I noticed that the Shark picked up about a quarter of its small canister that the Dyson missed. I believe its from the edges of the rug, the Dysons suction always pulls up the edges of the rug and is too difficult to vacuum close to the edges. The shark on its lower setting cleaned the outer edges of the rug without having this problem. Next I cleaned out both vacuums and used the Shark first on the other half of the area rug. It performed very well and filled its little canister up with hair pretty quick. I went over that half with the Dyson and it did pick up a little bit (barely noticeable amount) that the Shark missed but in my opinion, the hassle of the Dyson pulling up the edges of the rug isnt worth it, the Shark was much easier to use and cleaned the rug very well. Overall the Shark Rocket outperforms my Dyson DC33 upright on hardwood, tile, and area rugs but the Shark just doesnt work well enough on carpet to completely replace my upright. Im impressed enough with the performance of the Shark that I am keeping it to use on all my flooring except for carpet. The only other thing I noticed is that my hand and arm did get tired from holding up the Shark the whole time cleaning and the Shark wont stand upright on its own, you either have to hold it the whole time, or lay it on the floor between cleanings. If you are looking for a good and convenient vacuum for hardwood, tile, or area rugs, I would highly recommend this vacuum. If you are looking for a vacuum to replace an old upright and plan to use it on carpeting, buy another upright, not this. This a great vacuum to use to clean quick messes on carpeting but I dont feel it cleans carpet well enough to fully replace an upright. UPDATE: Ive had the vacuum for a few weeks now and after frequently using it, I still feel the same as my initial review above, this is a great vacuum but I dont feel its good enough to fully replace an upright with. Yesterday I decided to try using the vacuum to clean out the inside of my car and I was impressed with how well the micro cleaning kit (included in HV302)cleaned all of the usually hard places to clean. I used the micro cleaning kit to vacuum out the vents, cup holders, dash board, and other places in the car that are too difficult to get with a rag and it worked great. I also used the regular accessories to vacuum my cloth seats which worked very well and they are noticeably more clean. I started using the vacuum on the floors of my car but I quickly changed my mind after it sucked up a few small pebbles which immediately started bashing around the inside of the canister which I feel would have caused damage to the vacuum if I kept going. As far as this vacuum as a car cleaner, I would suggest using a shop vac on the floors of the car (if you have a gravel driveway like me) and then using this vacuum to clean your seats, vents, and other hard to clean places. If you plan on using this vacuum to clean your car, I would HIGHLY recommend getting the micro cleaning kit, it made cleaning my car that much easier.

> 24 hourI have always hated vacuuming. To the point that I would procrastinate until my floor felt annoying to walk on in bare feet. My old cheap vacuum broke down and I decided to try something more powerful to make this despicable task easier for me. To my surprise, after a few minutes using this vacuum, I felt something strange: enjoyment. The sheer suction power, the long cord, the sleek maneuverable design, the forward propelling motion, the ability to quickly detach the floor head and turn it into a long nose hand vacuum, and the ease of emptying the tank at the end. It was all so much easier. The forward propelling motion took some getting used to and I was fighting against it at first because I was used to old crappy vacuums that you have to push and pull all over the floor. Once, I got used to it, I really enjoyed it. It was like the vacuum was racing forward with urgency to clean the whole house for me and get the job done so I could return to doing something else. The speed and ease of that increase in forward motion really made the task easier. The maneuverability is also a game changer. The floor head on this is smaller than vacuums Im used to. But because it moves so fast and fits into smaller areas, it cleans faster. I also like how it rapidly turns left and right by twisting your wrist left and right. It changes the feel of the process from one like pushing a big heavy block to one like controlling a remote control vacuum race car. Once you get that little vacuum race car mindset, it becomes really straightforward to use. As for suction power, whoa. I like running it on the II setting at all times because you can go over 90% of the floor just once and get everything. Just be careful to avoid cords and shoe laces. I accidentally ran over both an iPhone charging cord and the long laces from one of my wifes fancy high heel shoes and it completely inhaled them and rolled them around the roller before I even realized Id made a mistake. I had to turn the vacuum off and a bit painfully but successfully unroll them out of the roller. But to me, this is actually a testament to its suction power and exactly what I bought it for. I just plan on being more careful next time. One thing to note about this vacuum: because of the slender design, it handles more like a power suction mop than a traditional vacuum. So you really have to hold it up. Its also kind of awesome though, because you can reach it long distances across the floor without walking just by leaning and pushing it forward. Its not a problem for me to use it one-handed because I have a lot of upper body strength. But I could see it being a bit of struggle for my wife. Luckily, I love using it so much and it gets the job done so quickly and thoroughly that we dont really have to worry about that.

> 24 hourI bought this vacuum to replace a battery operated stick vac that lasted 18 months and after a replacement battery operated vac only had moderate suction on high power, short battery life, and overheating. I needed a stick vac for cat hair and litter tracking on hard floors in a large multicat household. I trusted Shark since my upright is still working after 7 years but works better on carpet. I went back to a corded vac since it just doesn’t seem like the technology is there for battery operated vacs since I’m always running out of battery life and using up too much power for suction. So, this unit appears to do a solid job on hard floors. No vacuum is perfect. There were times I had to go over the same spot because litter got thrown by the roller. But overall, picked up cat hair right away and most of the litter. Motor stayed cool and didn’t overheat. I may get an extension cord. I bought the large cup.
