> 3 dayBought this to replace a Dyson. Replacement part for the Dyson was more expensive than the Shark. Shark cleans well, if not better than the Dyson. Great product and a great price

> 3 dayYoure reading reviews for this vacuum because you have two concerns: hair and weight. Consider your problems solved. First, hair. As you can see from the attached image, I have the kind of long, extremely thick hair that strangles vacuum rollers dead in nanoseconds. This vacuums roller has a groove carved into the plastic so you can quickly and easily slide a knife or scissor blade in, severing every hair with no hassle. Instant cleanup, no destroyed roller. The suction is no joke. There are two settings: one that is as powerful as my old vacuum on max power, and one that is TURBO CHARGED. This will demolish ground-in dirt and hair even from high-pile carpet or rugs. The suction is so powerful, even carpeting and rugs that have been pounded completely flat have the fibers physically pulled upwards, so even if your hairy little monster of a pet likes to destroy carpet or rug fibers, after vacuuming they feel plush and wonderful. Con: on Turbo mode, you will smell burning hair. The motor really is not kidding around and will set itself on fire before it allows the tiniest speck of dirt to remain on your floor. Second: weight. Its remarkably lightweight and very easy to heft around even with tiny elf arms. The maneuverability of the vacuum head is excellent and can work around such tight unwieldy places as between chair legs. All the pieces pop apart and reassemble with no trouble, so storage and transportation will never be an issue. Con: almost all of the weight is in the top handle, where the motor is. This can make it a tiny bit difficult to get the vacuum head to stay on the ground properly, and makes it nigh impossible for you just to stand the vacuum up anywhere and leave it there. Being top-heavy does it no favors. General design con: the canister is somewhat small and connected directly to the motor so you cant just pop it out, empty it into a bin, and pop it back into the vacuum. Its very easy to empty, but you are still going to have to heft the motor around with it, and the motor is obviously still going to be plugged into the wall. Good news is that the motor/handle/canister all pops free of the other bits with a simple lever press, so its not like you need to carry the entire vacuum with you when you head to the bin. Bonus pro: there are a huge number of attachments, heads, and specialty bits and bobs in with the vacuum. I dont know what half of them are used for. Some are obviously for cleaning off stairs, or ceiling fans, or getting into crevasses, but some of them, who even knows. Literally whatever kind of application youd like this vacuum for, theres probably a specialized nozzle for it. This is the cleanest my stairs have been in four years. Final pitch: look, I get it. I have a A Thing about money where no matter how worthy a purchase it is, a triple digit price tag makes me flinch. I put off getting a new vacuum for months and watched my own mental health spiral, knowing a contributing factor was that I was living in rising masses of dirt and grime. Danger had its element, too; a pie plate exploded (dont ask) and glass shards found themselves all over my kitchen floor, and some ended up in my feet. No vacuum to clean up the shards I couldnt see and couldnt get up with a broom and dustpan. I know being surrounded by painful messes were powerless to fix is a 2020 mood and all, but this metaphor is a little too on the nose. I caved and bought the vacuum. I cranked her up this morning. This is the best Ive felt in months. I know the price tag is a little steep compared to other lightweight vacs, but its powerful and versatile enough that its absolutely worth the expenditure. If youre looking for a worthwhile vacuum that will demolish human hair, pet hair, ground-in dirt, and particulates from any flooring you could possibly have, all while staying under $200, this is it.

> 3 dayThis vacuum has great suction and did a fantastic job getting the dust and dog hair. I wish I could have kept it, but the emptying of the canister is not ideal. This one was purchased to replace one of the original Rocket models. That model had a canister that could be removed, emptied and rinsed in the sink. On this model the canister is permanently attached to the vacuum. To empty it, you need to disconnect from the wand and power foot and carry the vacuum and cord to the trash. Its more difficult to keep the dust from landing outside the trash and you cannot separate it and wash it out.

> 3 dayWe have two puppies that drop hair everywhere. My poor broom just wasnt cutting it, and pulling out the Hoover was just too much. I kept researching the best stick vacs for pets, and I feel like the information was always the same. There were many good name brands, but the negative comments always got me. It was either the suction wasnt great, or a lack of power. Shark kept popping up as a great brand, but the battery operated stick vacs still seemed to have the same negative reviews. I came across this vac while researching. I figured that battery operated would never be a strong with a corded vac. I needed something strong enough to get the clumps that get left almost daily. This vac completely surprised me. The first thing I noticed was the power--it was basically self propelled. This was on the low setting--in fact I never use the higher setting. It picked up the hair on my carpets, and the hair on the floor was getting sucked up before I even touched it. So far, this was everything I was looking for. The swivel head really allows tight corners or spaces, and under my couches and tables. Are there some downfalls, yes: its corded. The cord can get in the way, and if I am not close to the trash can, it may not reach. The container is not the biggest. I am use to my Hoover which has a bigger container. Depending on the hair, I can get through about 2 rooms before needing to dump. I have only really had to check the brush head like twice--cleans pretty easy. Is this what I use for my deep cleaning, no. I use my other vac for that. This is still excellent at what it does. The negatives are just that, but not enough to return it. It stores easy and doesnt take up a lot of space. Overall a great buy.

Greater than one weekSkip to the bottom for the TLDR;! Vacuums are the literal bane of my existence. I originally had a blue Shark Rocket just like this orange one, but one of my buns ate through the cord. Ever since then, Ive been cursed to only find vacuums that commit sudoku with mine and my husbands hair. I live in a ~650sqft one bedroom apartment. Its not exactly a lot of space and the only carpet is the bedroom, living room, and the dining area. Kitchen and bathroom are linoleum. I have extremely thick and extremely long hair. I shed hair as much as any animal Ive seen and if I dont vacuum about once a week, a nice layer of hair settles in areas where Im commonly at. I mentioned that one of my buns (she passed a few years ago; RIP Oreo) ate through the cord of my first Shark. No, she didnt die from eating through the cord because she didnt literally eat the cord. She just ripped it to shreds and spit it everywhere for fun. The second vacuum I got was another Shark. It was lost to my hair, presumably because of the time it took me to get a new vacuum. The hair piled up and killed the vacuum. Thats when I became aware of the issue of my hair. My parents had a Dyson vacuum to clean up the mess that is my constant shedding, as well as hardwoods everywhere except the bedrooms, so I never knew. So I buy a third vacuum, a red one that I literally dont remember the branding for at all. I got it as a cheap hold-over until I could afford to shell out another $200+ on a vacuum. It, too, was lost to my hair. I used it a single time and my hair got wound up in the motor of the brush roller and BURNED MY HAIR TO A CRISP around the motor gear so much so that I couldnt remove the hair. Toast. So I shell out the $170 or whatever it costs for another of the same blue Shark I had originally. After all, the only reason IT broke was because my bun ate through the cord. Three vacuums later and... toast. Same issue as the red no name vacuum, actually. Brush roller motor sucked up my hair as I vacuumed, burned it to a crisp and became impossible to use. Its not a lot of hair I find in there. Just enough to jam everything up and be impossible to remove. Now, onto this vacuum :/ I want to LOVE THIS VACUUM. Its great in every way. Its got fantastic suction and my floors felt clean the first two times I used it. It picked up a TON of stuff out of my gross carpets and I was finally feeling good about them. Id been very diligent about cleaning my hair out of the roller and making sure the motor is free of hair so it doesnt fry and Im excited because I think THIS IS THE ONE TRUE VACUUM. And then I use it today. I get the small piece of hallway in between my bedroom and bathroom and a little of my vacuum when I notice that Im smelling burning plastic and hair and that the brush roller isnt actually pulling me across the floor anymore. The light is still green, as if everything is fine, but I turn it off and flip it over to clean out any hair that might be too tightly wound. Huzzah! The motor is fine. However... the opposite side of the brush roller that isnt attached to the motor is literally melted to the vacuum and can no longer spin. Hair probably got into this tiny nook between where the rollers end is housed and the roller itself. But I was only vacuuming for ~3 minutes. It felt pretty bad considering I paid 200$ for this vacuum. I dont think its too much to ask that spinning parts not be open to things that can get caught inside, like human hair. But I also may literally be cursed because I havent seen any other stories like mine. I cant give this vacuum five stars because despite its normally fantastic performance, I feel like the plastic shouldnt have been so vulnerable to melting. I was only vacuuming for less than five minutes and the brush roller had been completely cleaned beforehand. The vacuum did not indicate that something was wrong, either. The light stayed green for the entirety of the three minutes until I shut it off because I smelt plastic and hair and wanted to save the vacuum. But I dont feel right giving this vacuum one star either. It performs REALLY WELL under normal circumstances and I think itd make a great vacuum for most people. For those who might wonder: no, Im not sick and no, Im not balding. Ive just always had a lot of hair break/fall out no matter what I do and my hair never gets any thinner despite it. I did recently cut off about eight inches of it, though, out of frustration and it helped the amount of hair breakage/loss. It sits just passed my shoulders now. /endrant TLDR; MY BRUSH ROLLER MELTED TO THE WALL OF THE VACUUM AND IT NO LONGER SPINS. But this isnt the first time its happened to me, so: I can honestly say I DO recommend this vacuum if: -You have hair that isnt super long and super thick -You have pets -You like having a clean home -You want something small and versatile that isnt cordless (I dislike cordless vacuums) -You want something easy to store I DO NOT recommend this vacuum if: -You have murder hair

> 3 dayI bought this vacuum to replace a battery operated stick vac that lasted 18 months and after a replacement battery operated vac only had moderate suction on high power, short battery life, and overheating. I needed a stick vac for cat hair and litter tracking on hard floors in a large multicat household. I trusted Shark since my upright is still working after 7 years but works better on carpet. I went back to a corded vac since it just doesn’t seem like the technology is there for battery operated vacs since I’m always running out of battery life and using up too much power for suction. So, this unit appears to do a solid job on hard floors. No vacuum is perfect. There were times I had to go over the same spot because litter got thrown by the roller. But overall, picked up cat hair right away and most of the litter. Motor stayed cool and didn’t overheat. I may get an extension cord. I bought the large cup.

> 3 dayBought this Shark vacuum to replace a small battery operated one that went kaput, Im very impressed with its performance and its so light compared to my Dyson. It actually cleaned an area on a light colored rug that I had gone over many times with the Dyson and just figured I had to resort to shampoo to get it match the rest of the carpet, but after going over it with the Shark it was definitely cleaner, couldnt believe it as I thought Dyson was the gold standard in vacuum cleaners. The LED lights are very useful and not gimmicky. Very happy with it so far.

> 3 dayTook over a month to decide what vac to buy. Still have old Hoover Wind Tunnel from 2008, but its actually too powerful for carpet. Looked at Dyson etc. for $500, 700 and $800 vacs. Not convinced worth that kind of $. This vac is super lightweight. Figured the corded will give better power than the batteries cordless bc i dont think those are good enough yet for the cost. The handheld portion is great. Sucks up cat litter pellets. Works great on our condo low pile carpet- and so maneuverable. I have had to clean /cut away hair from the roller but with multiple cats and a big hairy dog, understandable. The dust cup is big and easily emptied. Wish it was a bag but at 6 lb theres gotta be compromise. For the price, I am very happy. Still keeping the Hoover bc that tank is like a household shop vac. But it also weighs a ton. This wattage aint close but its more powerful than I expected. Great for daily cleanups and the carpet work is fine. Sometimes need to hit along the corners with the wand. Would recommend for this price point and weight and attachments.
