Skip to the bottom for the TLDR;! Vacuums are the literal bane of my existence. I originally had a blue Shark Rocket just like this orange one, but one of my buns ate through the cord. Ever since then, Ive been cursed to only find vacuums that commit sudoku with mine and my husbands hair. I live in a ~650sqft one bedroom apartment. Its not exactly a lot of space and the only carpet is the bedroom, living room, and the dining area. Kitchen and bathroom are linoleum. I have extremely thick and extremely long hair. I shed hair as much as any animal Ive seen and if I dont vacuum about once a week, a nice layer of hair settles in areas where Im commonly at. I mentioned that one of my buns (she passed a few years ago; RIP Oreo) ate through the cord of my first Shark. No, she didnt die from eating through the cord because she didnt literally eat the cord. She just ripped it to shreds and spit it everywhere for fun. The second vacuum I got was another Shark. It was lost to my hair, presumably because of the time it took me to get a new vacuum. The hair piled up and killed the vacuum. Thats when I became aware of the issue of my hair. My parents had a Dyson vacuum to clean up the mess that is my constant shedding, as well as hardwoods everywhere except the bedrooms, so I never knew. So I buy a third vacuum, a red one that I literally dont remember the branding for at all. I got it as a cheap hold-over until I could afford to shell out another $200+ on a vacuum. It, too, was lost to my hair. I used it a single time and my hair got wound up in the motor of the brush roller and BURNED MY HAIR TO A CRISP around the motor gear so much so that I couldnt remove the hair. Toast. So I shell out the $170 or whatever it costs for another of the same blue Shark I had originally. After all, the only reason IT broke was because my bun ate through the cord. Three vacuums later and... toast. Same issue as the red no name vacuum, actually. Brush roller motor sucked up my hair as I vacuumed, burned it to a crisp and became impossible to use. Its not a lot of hair I find in there. Just enough to jam everything up and be impossible to remove. Now, onto this vacuum :/ I want to LOVE THIS VACUUM. Its great in every way. Its got fantastic suction and my floors felt clean the first two times I used it. It picked up a TON of stuff out of my gross carpets and I was finally feeling good about them. Id been very diligent about cleaning my hair out of the roller and making sure the motor is free of hair so it doesnt fry and Im excited because I think THIS IS THE ONE TRUE VACUUM. And then I use it today. I get the small piece of hallway in between my bedroom and bathroom and a little of my vacuum when I notice that Im smelling burning plastic and hair and that the brush roller isnt actually pulling me across the floor anymore. The light is still green, as if everything is fine, but I turn it off and flip it over to clean out any hair that might be too tightly wound. Huzzah! The motor is fine. However... the opposite side of the brush roller that isnt attached to the motor is literally melted to the vacuum and can no longer spin. Hair probably got into this tiny nook between where the rollers end is housed and the roller itself. But I was only vacuuming for ~3 minutes. It felt pretty bad considering I paid 200$ for this vacuum. I dont think its too much to ask that spinning parts not be open to things that can get caught inside, like human hair. But I also may literally be cursed because I havent seen any other stories like mine. I cant give this vacuum five stars because despite its normally fantastic performance, I feel like the plastic shouldnt have been so vulnerable to melting. I was only vacuuming for less than five minutes and the brush roller had been completely cleaned beforehand. The vacuum did not indicate that something was wrong, either. The light stayed green for the entirety of the three minutes until I shut it off because I smelt plastic and hair and wanted to save the vacuum. But I dont feel right giving this vacuum one star either. It performs REALLY WELL under normal circumstances and I think itd make a great vacuum for most people. For those who might wonder: no, Im not sick and no, Im not balding. Ive just always had a lot of hair break/fall out no matter what I do and my hair never gets any thinner despite it. I did recently cut off about eight inches of it, though, out of frustration and it helped the amount of hair breakage/loss. It sits just passed my shoulders now. /endrant TLDR; MY BRUSH ROLLER MELTED TO THE WALL OF THE VACUUM AND IT NO LONGER SPINS. But this isnt the first time its happened to me, so: I can honestly say I DO recommend this vacuum if: -You have hair that isnt super long and super thick -You have pets -You like having a clean home -You want something small and versatile that isnt cordless (I dislike cordless vacuums) -You want something easy to store I DO NOT recommend this vacuum if: -You have murder hair

Had several shark vacuums over the years and they always delivered on all points. I debated getting a cordless but reviews didn’t convince me on battery life. So I got the stick thinking it would be similar and I mostly have hardwood flooring. But the suction leaves a little to be desired when actually using it on area rugs, furniture, my cars carpet etc. I also don’t like that it won’t stand on it’s own when your using it and I need to stop to do something else. You have to lay it on the floor. I will still use it and make do for awhile cause I don’t won’t to waste money. But I wish I had opted for another navigator or similar.

Switched to this lightweight vac from a larger Dirt Devil model. Quickly switch from floor stick to handheld with attachments for furniture. No filter, just empty the cup! Cleans great on laminate floors, rugs and tile.

I am in love with my new vacuum! I had been using hand me downs for my whole adult life and decided to do some research to find one for pet hair. I have two cats, one of which is a medium hair breed, and working from home made me very aware of how disgusting my carpets get. Ive got some sensory issues and executive dysfunction that makes cleaning beyond a chore and needed to get something that worked well, worked quickly, could get in tight spaces, and pick up pet hair. This vacuum hit all those check marks easily! After three months of owning it, Ive actually been able to vacuum my whole apartment more times than I used to in a year. Its not overly loud, its light and easy to maneuver, and it really picks up hair insanely well even when I used it that first time (and the cat hair had been ground into the carpets for 6-12 months). I works decently on hard wood/laminate as well, Ive found it does have trouble picking up things as small as cat litter thats been tracked about but its so lightweight and easy to use that I dont mind making a few passes in the same area to pick it all up. You do need to empty it pretty frequently due to the small size, and my biggest complaint with the vacuum is that I have to unplug it to disconnect the top and bring the whole thing to empty in the trash. Its a bit frustrating to not be able and just pop out the container to empty, but the rest of the benefits FAR outweigh this one issue. I appreciate all the various attachments that come with it, although mine did not have a wall hook for storage like I thought it would. My brother in law is interested in the car detailing kit that came with it to take care of his Subaru BRZ, and my sister was able to spend 6 hours at my apartment without her cat allergies kicking in thanks to how well it worked. She even asked for a demonstration before leaving! My new vacuum has become nearly a running joke as my family finds ways to insist I bring it places. It your fathers birthday, dont you want to do something nice for him? For reference, my mom and dad have 3 cats including a long hair breed. I have told them to buy their own!

I bought this for a long-term guest staying in our vacation rental because they like to vacuum every day and they were absolutely thrilled!
