The best way to test an umbrella is during hurricane season in South Florida. Best umbrella thus far. To bad someone stole it. Pros - Stands up wind gust - great coverage for two people - compact to fit in a fairly large back pack (this is not a purse friendly umbrella) - handles well in a heavy down pour - has a great opening mechanism and a breeze to close - comes with a cover that has netted vent - the handle also has an elastic band to wrap around your wrist - heavy enough to use a decent brunt object just i case your have to defend yourself :) Cons: - its not really a compact umbrella. Like i said ladies, its not purse friendly. This is must for a Floridian. Keep a close eye on it though... Someone WILL steal it.

I love this umbrella! Yes, it is HUGE, but because I hate getting rained on, this is the only umbrella that is big enough to keep me completely dry. Im 52 and 100 lbs, so Im not a big person, but normal sized umbrellas just cant block the rain completely, even less so if its rainy and windy. Id say this is big enough to decently cover 3 people my size, or 2 people if walking side by side. It is double vented and very sturdy. My only con for this product is that its heavier than Id like to have to carry around, especially if Im out shopping or running errands. If it ever need another umbrella, I would definitely purchase this again.

I love this umbrella. Ive had it a few months and it has withstood some nasty downpours. I live in New York City, and this umbrella is sized just right: big enough to keep me dry, but not so big that Im one of those people who hog the whole sidewalk with my massive umbrella. It handles wind well, too. I only have two criticisms, neither of which is enough to knock a star off: 1. When folded up, its just a little too big to fit in my backpack, which would be nice. 2. Sometimes, when walking, the flap on top will make a rhythmic thump-thump with each step I take Other than that, its perfect for me.

This is the best umbrella Ive owned. It has the perfect size to keep me dry. The vent up top prevents it from being a slave to windy conditions. It pops open as easily as the day I bought it, and I am approaching two years with this guy. The only wear is a small amount of rust on one of the joints, but it hardly noticeable. I keep one in my car at all times.

Durable. Takes a little strength to close.

It works. It is the perfect size for me at 6 1. It is the first time Im not all wet even though I am carry an umbrella. I havent had any problems yet with the wind. I havent had it long enough to know if meets all my expectations yet. It is a full sized golf umbrella that telescopes out. It still doesnt fully fit into my timbuktu bag and it is a little heavy. I think for the price, it was a great purchase and I will buy it again when this umbrella stops working.

This is a very large and heavy umbrella. Even if you have a large bookbag, it might possibly not fit inside (youll have the handle part protruding out). I bought this umbrella because I know Totes brand is known for their quality umbrellas. I also wanted a rather large umbrella (when opened). Unfortunately, it is a bit too big in its compact size. The umbrella is also very heavy so its hard to hold up and walk around-- extremely tiring. Though I must say, in times of extreme wind, my umbrella has not flipped over. I accidently left the umbrella closed and wet... And it rusted, so there goes that :(

I wanted something large enough to protect both shoulders (and most of my lower body if not too windy). It also needed to be able to auto-open, and be sturdy enough to stand up to most winds. This is a great size (both folded and open). My only complaint is that its a bit heavy, but I suppose thats an acceptable trade-off for being a bit larger and more sturdy than others.

I was tired of cheap, small umbrellas. This product exceeded expectations. I use it for work where I usually wear a suit and carry a briefcase. It is large enough to protect both body and suitcase. It is larger, so when folded up it may be twice as large as other brands, but is still small enough for easy transport. I have had no issue with wind, and the construction feels sturdy and durable. Update 6/2013- Had a real test in high wind situation and I must say I am disappointed. It was windy, but not dangerously windy and the umbrella was nearly torn apart. The main rod became bent to the point that I have to manually open it now. It inverted numerous times and connections on the ends in places were torn off. Overall for moderate conditions, umbrella worked great but with 20mph winds, leave it at home.

This thing is massive. I didnt quite understand how big it was... another reviewer complained that it wasnt big enough for him so I thought It wouldnt be one of those massive umbrellas you see sometimes... but it is. I dont quite get what he was after because this umbrella is so large Im a bit embarrassed walking in a busy street with it.
