> 3 dayThe best way to test an umbrella is during hurricane season in South Florida. Best umbrella thus far. To bad someone stole it. Pros - Stands up wind gust - great coverage for two people - compact to fit in a fairly large back pack (this is not a purse friendly umbrella) - handles well in a heavy down pour - has a great opening mechanism and a breeze to close - comes with a cover that has netted vent - the handle also has an elastic band to wrap around your wrist - heavy enough to use a decent brunt object just i case your have to defend yourself :) Cons: - its not really a compact umbrella. Like i said ladies, its not purse friendly. This is must for a Floridian. Keep a close eye on it though... Someone WILL steal it.

> 3 dayheavy duty but a bit longer then expected. hard to put into say a brief case bag or smaller laptop backbag for taking to work. does not auto close but its not difficult to close. no button to push, just PULL the slide in until it clicks locked closed. because it is heavy canopy its slower to open, but still a great umbrella. not quite golf sized but close to that just seemed smaller.

> 3 dayMy only complaint about this umbrella is that there is no auto close. It really bothers me. I thought pretty much all totes umbrellas were auto close, but this one is not. Other than that its great. Ive had no issues with the material collecting water or anything. The size is great to stay dry on my walk from the car to the office. The air flow vent is perfect for windy thunderstorms.

> 3 dayI guess I should have known this golf-sized umbrella would cover the entire sidewalk as I walked Chicago. This umbrella is intrusive but solid. I like that it can still be compact enough to fit into a large bag. Doesnt fit so well with a messenger bag though. I expect this to make it through some tough storms, if I dont annoy everyone I walk past.

> 3 dayThis is one of the largest folding umbrellas you can get...about 56 across, so you can walk with another person no problem. Its not as big as a full-sized golf or bellman umbrella, which is about 68, but I needed it to fold. Its auto-open, but manual close, which is fine. It has a wrist strap and a comfortable handle. The nylon/netted case it comes with is pretty useless, really, as it has no shoulder strap.

> 3 dayThis is the second totes golf umbrella Ive purchased. I had the previous one for 2 years but I lost it on the train. It was such a sturdy, reliable, big, and compact umbrella I knew I had to get the same one to replace it. Fantastic!

> 3 dayI was tired of cheap, small umbrellas. This product exceeded expectations. I use it for work where I usually wear a suit and carry a briefcase. It is large enough to protect both body and suitcase. It is larger, so when folded up it may be twice as large as other brands, but is still small enough for easy transport. I have had no issue with wind, and the construction feels sturdy and durable. Update 6/2013- Had a real test in high wind situation and I must say I am disappointed. It was windy, but not dangerously windy and the umbrella was nearly torn apart. The main rod became bent to the point that I have to manually open it now. It inverted numerous times and connections on the ends in places were torn off. Overall for moderate conditions, umbrella worked great but with 20mph winds, leave it at home.

Greater than one weekNot happy with this umbrella. Received with several small holes in the canopy. Was going to send back but the location to return was a ups store to far for me to travel. Kohl’s was not an option available to me. Very disappointed that the quality has gone down hill. Save your money and look at another brand.

> 3 dayI am loving this umbrella! I live in Philadelphia, where you get a nice little (sarcasm here) wind tunnel effect between buildings. So pretty much any time you get rain, you also have wind. So far this baby has held up through rain and wind. And its plenty big enough to keep me and my backpack covered. The vent really does help in keeping the wind from grabbing the underside of the umbrella, and also makes it easier to manage in the wind, since youre not fighting your umbrella while trying to hold it at an angle that will protect you from the rain. It did invert once in a huge gust of wind, but I pointed it into the wind, and the wind blew it right back into shape. It seems to have suffered no ill effects; nothing broke, or even loosened up.

> 3 dayThis is a great umbrella for the price. My only issue is with the word compact. yea, its more like compact-ish. Its not quite a tote, not something you could toss into a bag, but smaller than a full-size. The trade-off is that it covers quite a bit more than a tote umbrella. Solidly built.
