My only complaint about this umbrella is that there is no auto close. It really bothers me. I thought pretty much all totes umbrellas were auto close, but this one is not. Other than that its great. Ive had no issues with the material collecting water or anything. The size is great to stay dry on my walk from the car to the office. The air flow vent is perfect for windy thunderstorms.

Im use to umbrellas with a large canopy and this one fits the bill. I havent had to experience strong winds just yet, but it has held up to heavy rain. The umbrella is a tad heavy, but I think it is because of the material used to construct it. Either way its all stars from me!

I am loving this umbrella! I live in Philadelphia, where you get a nice little (sarcasm here) wind tunnel effect between buildings. So pretty much any time you get rain, you also have wind. So far this baby has held up through rain and wind. And its plenty big enough to keep me and my backpack covered. The vent really does help in keeping the wind from grabbing the underside of the umbrella, and also makes it easier to manage in the wind, since youre not fighting your umbrella while trying to hold it at an angle that will protect you from the rain. It did invert once in a huge gust of wind, but I pointed it into the wind, and the wind blew it right back into shape. It seems to have suffered no ill effects; nothing broke, or even loosened up.

The best way to test an umbrella is during hurricane season in South Florida. Best umbrella thus far. To bad someone stole it. Pros - Stands up wind gust - great coverage for two people - compact to fit in a fairly large back pack (this is not a purse friendly umbrella) - handles well in a heavy down pour - has a great opening mechanism and a breeze to close - comes with a cover that has netted vent - the handle also has an elastic band to wrap around your wrist - heavy enough to use a decent brunt object just i case your have to defend yourself :) Cons: - its not really a compact umbrella. Like i said ladies, its not purse friendly. This is must for a Floridian. Keep a close eye on it though... Someone WILL steal it.

    Greater than one week

I am very picky person, so of course I spent hours searching for an umbrella (crazy, right?). I was a little skeptical about ordering this umbrella because I thought it would be too big, but its actually a good size. Just looks larger online (duh). This umbrella was delivered just in time because the next day there was a thunderstorm with high winds. In the past, my umbrellas wouldnt stand a chance as they couldnt take heavy winds and sometimes my umbrella will turn inside out. Expecting the same for this one, I was surprised that I was able to hold it without any problems - handles wind like its nothing! My only minor complaint is that its a bit on the heavy side. Its my first time owning a vented umbrella so I wasnt expecting the weight to be on the heavy side, but its not a big deal after holding it for a bit. Would recommend this umbrella to anyone!

Not happy with this umbrella. Received with several small holes in the canopy. Was going to send back but the location to return was a ups store to far for me to travel. Kohl’s was not an option available to me. Very disappointed that the quality has gone down hill. Save your money and look at another brand.

So Im not sure why this has to be a mens umbrella - Im definitely female and I definitely love this umbrella. It is very very wide and keeps pretty much all of me (plus bags, backpacks, another person, etc.) dry. I havent tried it in incredibly strong winds, but it has performed well in moderate to powerful gusts.

Heavy duty umbrella should hold up to winds. Large coverage, enough for 2 people. Kind of bulky and on heavy side but thats what I ordered. The handle could be a little more ergonomic.

we made use of the umbrella for outdoor sporting events and really like the compact size. Not as large as a full sized golf umbrella when opened up but wonderful for around town use. Cant beat th lifetime warranty and it is gust proof. Would like a beefier main post.

Quality construction, sturdy and does pretty good in reasonable wind (read less than 20mph, I havent had the pleasure of using it in higher wind). I would gladdly buy it again if I managed to lose it. The size is large enough that two people can easily use it at the same time. The automatic opening action, a feature that I didnt think that I needed is actually pretty darn handy when your other hand is occupied with coffee or a bag, etc. Edit 7/8/2015: So the rivets have started to fail at the edge of the umbrella. This does not render the umbrella useless, however there is a noticeable droop on two of the edges. Im still fairly happy with the umbrella, but this does take away from its ability to last. My rating has changed from 5 stars to 3. Two years old shouldnt be failing this quickly. (I always leave it open to dry after use.) Edit 10/2/2015: No longer impressed. Too much money spent on an umbrella that failed after two years of light use. I can No longer recommend this umbrella.
