> 3 dayNice! Its not a mini umbrella but isnt huge, either. It wont fit in a briefcase. Its solid and well made. I had my first use with it when I got out of my car at the waterfront with 34mph gusts -- the wind hit the inside of the umbrella, and it didnt turn inside out. Thats all I need.

> 3 dayI love this umbrella! Yes, it is HUGE, but because I hate getting rained on, this is the only umbrella that is big enough to keep me completely dry. Im 52 and 100 lbs, so Im not a big person, but normal sized umbrellas just cant block the rain completely, even less so if its rainy and windy. Id say this is big enough to decently cover 3 people my size, or 2 people if walking side by side. It is double vented and very sturdy. My only con for this product is that its heavier than Id like to have to carry around, especially if Im out shopping or running errands. If it ever need another umbrella, I would definitely purchase this again.

> 3 dayI am loving this umbrella! I live in Philadelphia, where you get a nice little (sarcasm here) wind tunnel effect between buildings. So pretty much any time you get rain, you also have wind. So far this baby has held up through rain and wind. And its plenty big enough to keep me and my backpack covered. The vent really does help in keeping the wind from grabbing the underside of the umbrella, and also makes it easier to manage in the wind, since youre not fighting your umbrella while trying to hold it at an angle that will protect you from the rain. It did invert once in a huge gust of wind, but I pointed it into the wind, and the wind blew it right back into shape. It seems to have suffered no ill effects; nothing broke, or even loosened up.

> 3 dayThis is a great umbrella for the price. My only issue is with the word compact. yea, its more like compact-ish. Its not quite a tote, not something you could toss into a bag, but smaller than a full-size. The trade-off is that it covers quite a bit more than a tote umbrella. Solidly built.

> 3 dayIt works. It is the perfect size for me at 6 1. It is the first time Im not all wet even though I am carry an umbrella. I havent had any problems yet with the wind. I havent had it long enough to know if meets all my expectations yet. It is a full sized golf umbrella that telescopes out. It still doesnt fully fit into my timbuktu bag and it is a little heavy. I think for the price, it was a great purchase and I will buy it again when this umbrella stops working.

Greater than one weekUsed this umbrella for the first time yesterday and one of the tiny brass rivets holding the upper and lower metal support pieces together broke, leaving a section of the nylon segments sagging a bit. Fixed it by aligning the metal pieces and inserting a small section of paper clip, twisting and trimming to lock it in place. Also, the handle of the umbrella is fairly short so if you have longer arms you will have them bent at all times when using the umbrella or the inner supports will be bouncing off your head. Otherwise, seems like it will work fine - it held up well on a fairly windy day even with a broken support.

> 3 dayIts a pretty large umbrella that still can fit (just barely) inside my backpack, and it appeared to be pretty sturdy. Ive had it for about two months now. Ive mostly used it in light rain, and it would keep me dry for the most part. However, I began having issues with the water seeping through it on extended walks, or when I would use it, go inside, and use it again in short succession. I suspect that when I shake it off upon entering a building that, because it is vented, the water shakes down into the interior. Then when I use it a few hours later, this trapped water might get stuck in creases and form a sort of water tension bridge that allows water to wick through the material. This theory is giving the benefit of the doubt to the manufacturer, because the alternative is that it is just of inferior quality and soaks through after 20 minutes or so. Ive also just noticed significant amounts of rust forming at the joints that are causing rust stains to appear on the fabric and creaking at the joints. I may try to oil the dozens of joints to reduce this problem, but of course then Ill have oil on the inside of an umbrella that also has a dripping problem. Id be wary of buying this again. Id suggest giving the outside some additional water proofing if you get it, and be careful not to invert the umbrella to shake excess water off like you might with a non-vented type.

Greater than one weekLiving on the gulf coast we are subject to frequent and heavy thunderstorms. I used my umbrella this week in flash flood weather and it was well balanced and very easy to managed. While my shoes were drenched to the ankle, not a drop got no me or my files as I walked up a slight incline to through the prison gates (I am a lawyer). The auto deployment is smooth and very sturdy and folding it down when I got inside was a breeze. Very compact and well made. Am buying a few more for family and staff!!!

> 3 dayThis is a great umbrella. It is the first collapsing umbrella I have found that really holds up to the wind in Chicago. And in case youre wondering, this really does open up to the full size of a golf umbrella. It is a bit longer and heavier than most folding umbrellas, but that is the price you pay for something that is this sturdy and provides maximum protection from the rain. It fits into my backpack with all of the other stuff I cram in there - but I have a large backpack. I have gone through many umbrellas over the years, but I am very happy with this purchase and have no reason to think it wont hold up for a long time.
