Greater than one weekWhile functional as an umbrella, the darn thing wont stay closed, the handle just keeps popping open due to the latch just not latching well. Makes it useless as a collapsable umbrella, though as a full sized umbrella its pretty ok.

> 3 dayProvides a good balance between size when opened and size when closed (can fit in my backpack). I bought a second one because my kid stole my first one, which I received from Totes after a different model failed with little use. Their products have a lifetime warranty and they will honor it. So glad they sent me one of these, because Im totally sold on them now.

> 3 dayIve had this umbrella for probably close to two years now and it still works great. Its pretty solid! It managed to survive a couple storms with strong wind gusts. It has some rust starting to form but still works really well.

> 3 daywe made use of the umbrella for outdoor sporting events and really like the compact size. Not as large as a full sized golf umbrella when opened up but wonderful for around town use. Cant beat th lifetime warranty and it is gust proof. Would like a beefier main post.

19-11-2024Good quality umbrella. Big and sturdy enough to cover two people yet small enough to be portable. Like another reviewer said, its still too big to fit in most backpacks but you can still work around that. Bigger than your typical portable umbrellas and smaller than the big golf umbrellas. I liked the first one I got that I ended up buying another one.

> 3 dayThis is an average to good umbrella. It definitely keeps the rain out, feels relatively sturdy and the blue looks nice. It is also compact enough to fit in the side pockets of my Subaru doors. My chief issue is the weight and claim that it is golf-sized. I have a golf umbrella that is several inches larger and much lighter. This one also has a relatively short handle, meaning I have to hold it higher to keep out the rain. Overall, its a decent buy for the price.

> 3 dayIm tall and needed a bigger umbrella in order to keep rain from soaking the bottom of my pants; this does the job. The umbrella opens and closes smoothly and the handle is comfortable. It is very large when collapsed, so I would look elsewhere if you need something that will fit into a small commuter bag or backpack. My only gripe: while its larger in diameter than collapsable umbrellas, I think calling it golf sized if being a little generous.

> 3 dayIts a pretty large umbrella that still can fit (just barely) inside my backpack, and it appeared to be pretty sturdy. Ive had it for about two months now. Ive mostly used it in light rain, and it would keep me dry for the most part. However, I began having issues with the water seeping through it on extended walks, or when I would use it, go inside, and use it again in short succession. I suspect that when I shake it off upon entering a building that, because it is vented, the water shakes down into the interior. Then when I use it a few hours later, this trapped water might get stuck in creases and form a sort of water tension bridge that allows water to wick through the material. This theory is giving the benefit of the doubt to the manufacturer, because the alternative is that it is just of inferior quality and soaks through after 20 minutes or so. Ive also just noticed significant amounts of rust forming at the joints that are causing rust stains to appear on the fabric and creaking at the joints. I may try to oil the dozens of joints to reduce this problem, but of course then Ill have oil on the inside of an umbrella that also has a dripping problem. Id be wary of buying this again. Id suggest giving the outside some additional water proofing if you get it, and be careful not to invert the umbrella to shake excess water off like you might with a non-vented type.

> 3 dayQuality construction, sturdy and does pretty good in reasonable wind (read less than 20mph, I havent had the pleasure of using it in higher wind). I would gladdly buy it again if I managed to lose it. The size is large enough that two people can easily use it at the same time. The automatic opening action, a feature that I didnt think that I needed is actually pretty darn handy when your other hand is occupied with coffee or a bag, etc. Edit 7/8/2015: So the rivets have started to fail at the edge of the umbrella. This does not render the umbrella useless, however there is a noticeable droop on two of the edges. Im still fairly happy with the umbrella, but this does take away from its ability to last. My rating has changed from 5 stars to 3. Two years old shouldnt be failing this quickly. (I always leave it open to dry after use.) Edit 10/2/2015: No longer impressed. Too much money spent on an umbrella that failed after two years of light use. I can No longer recommend this umbrella.

> 3 dayHeavy duty umbrella should hold up to winds. Large coverage, enough for 2 people. Kind of bulky and on heavy side but thats what I ordered. The handle could be a little more ergonomic.
